CATS College Canterbury
CAS Co-ordinator
Phoebe Nyaywa, CAS Co-ordinator
"I was born in the warm country of Zambia, educated first in Africa, and then in the UK. I graduated from the University of Leicester with a Master’s degree in Finance.
I love working with the students we have and helping them to get the best out of their time here. This is both with the activities and their academic studies.
The college is a lovely environment to work in and it is easy to get to know the students. I find the multicultural aspect of the college life to be an inspiration."

Creativity, Action, Service: 2009-10
An essential part of life at CATS College Canterbury is 'Creativity, Action, Serivce' (CAS). This reflects the holistic approach that is central to our College, where life outside the world of academia is given equal importance to the students' studies.
- Creativity is interpreted broadly to include a wide range of arts activities as well as the creativity students demonstrate in designing and implementing service projects.
- Action can include not only participation in individual and team sports but also taking part in expeditions and in local or international projects.
- Service encompasses a wide range of community and social service activities. Some examples include helping children with special needs, visiting hospitals and working with refugees or homeless people.
At CATS College Canterbury, we ask our students to choose one main charity to support throughout the year. In 2009-10 our students chose local charity Kent Kids, founded in 1993 to care for sick and disabled children.
Throughout the year our students organised a number of fundraising events (raising an amzing £762.35 in total) in addition to some fun and innovative examples of Creativity, Action and Service.
Click on the links below to see some of the events that the students arranged and took part in throughout the year - I hope you agree that despite the hard work, they also have a lot of fun!
