High School Term

High School Term is ideal for...

Students who want to experience one or more terms living and studying in the UK and earn credit for these studies back home. You have the flexibility to design your own study programme by selecting options from a wide range of subject areas.

  • 3-5 subjects studied over 1 - 2 terms
  • Assessment takes place via coursework or exams depending on how long you stay

You can choose from up to five subjects from the options below, which will each be studied for 4 hours per week.

For non-native English language speakers, one of those options will be specialist Academic English language support, covering speaking, listening, writing and reading as well as cultural awareness and study skills.

"I really like it here - it's like a big city in a small city, there's everything you need but in a small space. It's a city made for students and it attracts people from all over the world which means I never feel alone.

For me, the most unique thing about CATS is the small class sizes. I get a lot more personal attention here than I am used to in Brazil, and with so few students to a teacher, it means I don't fall behind if I don't understand. Dr Anna Giovannantonio
Anna is Tutor of Italian Language and Culture at CATS College Cambridge.

"I am an Italian native speaker. After achieving a first class MA Degree in Modern Languages and Literature at the University of Naples, in the South of Italy, I went to live in the North of Italy, near Lake Maggiore, where I taught English language and literature and German.

Since coming to England in 1998, I have taught Italian as a foreign language in English schools and worked as a private tutor and as an examinations supervisor in several colleges of the University of Cambridge. I am also an examiner for the Oral Italian Speaking exams."
